Coursera - Week 1
Introduction
Last Wednesday, my lecturer gave this assignment as preparation for the midterm exam. He gave instructions that all students must do this before the deadline (Examination Day).
Coursera
What is Coursera?
Professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller of Stanford University launched Coursera in 2012; it is a global online learning system that offers degrees and courses from top universities and businesses. With more than 4,000 courses and collaborations with more than 275 colleges and businesses, Coursera seeks to give everyone access to excellent instruction and independent projects so they may invest in their education.
For which class I pick, I chose English for Journalism because English is the primary language used for news reporting on various platforms such as radio, television, online, and print. As a global language, it allows journalists to communicate and report on events to a wider audience. Journalists are advised to write in clear and simple English to ensure that their audience can easily understand the news. This involves using concise language, simple sentences, and accurate grammar to convey complex issues effectively.
